Project Details
Abonmarche conducted initial feasibility studies, created a park and marina master plan, provided surveying, architectural and landscaping services, and arranged for all permitting, including IDNR/USACE and local approvals, for this $12M project. The project included a Riverwalk along Burns Waterway, fishing platforms into Burns Waterway and restroom facilities for public use. In addition to the 250-slip marina and boat launch, the park features a 6-lane boat launch facility, large parking lot, retaining walls and natural landscaping. A special natural resource area was developed as a part of the USACE permit process. Other special project features include the use of NIPSCO right-of-way properties and grading easements with S.R. 12 and S.R. 249. In addition to the marina, Abonmarche designed a new Harbor Master’s office and marina support building.
